With his two-day total of 148 at the Division 3 state finals June 11-12 at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State University, Mick became the first Mustang to win a golf state title and helped North to a fourth-place team finish — its best ever.

The Rams had to replace the veteran core of their 2009 Macomb Area Conference Silver Division championship team, but with four of their top six golfers due back in 2011, Maisano doesn’t plan to get used to this year’s results.
